Where Expertise Meets the Classroom: Gender, Democracy, and Global Power

May 26, 2026

Watch this timely conversation on the intersection of gender and democracy, featuring Linda Robinson, senior fellow for women and foreign policy at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Drawing on her book, Women in Power: Fighting for Democracy in an Age of Authoritarianism, Robinson will examine the current cohort of women political leaders and tell the powerful stories of the women on the frontlines of the battle between democracy and authoritarianism.

Designed for high school educators and higher education faculty, this webinar will connect global insights into practical classroom applications. Robinson will be joined by a classroom educator to discuss how to meaningfully integrate lessons on women’s leadership and democracy into social studies and global affairs teaching by offering concrete strategies, case studies, and ready-to-use resources. Participants will leave with tools to help students better understand the barriers that women leaders have responded to and overcome to govern successfully and how their leadership strengthens democracies worldwide.
